An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, capable and pro-active Health and Safety Assurance Document Controller based in Somerset on a full time, permanent basis.

My client are a dynamic engineering and main civils construction contractor.

Job Requirements:
The Health and Safety Document Controller will be based on site in Somerset performing document control functions and supporting the Health and Safety Manager to implement the document control system.

The main responsibilities of the Health and Safety Document Controller are to:

- Perform registration, dispatch, filing and archiving of formal documents
- Monitor compliance with requirements; assist in controlling deviations and following up their correction;
- Train staff on document control requirements, processes and use of EDMS tools.
- Ensure system improvements established by the Health and Safety Manager are properly implemented
- Liaise with the Document Control staff on minor day to day document control issues
- Inform the Document Control Manager of issues, adjustments and improvements required such as templates, registers and EDMS tools
- “Quality check” Health and Safety documents
- Allocate document numbers to ensure formal documents are uniquely and correctly identified
- Implement and monitor EDMS workflows
- Manage reprographics requests
- Prepare document transmittals
- Obtain acknowledgement of receipt
- File documents in Master File per the Filing and Archive Plan to ensure they are protected from loss, damage and deterioration, and that they remain readily retrievable
- Assist the Health and Safety Department to properly file and archive master documents they manage outside the document control system
- Control access and use of Master File documents
- Control obsolete documents
- Provide Weekly, Monthly, and other reports requested by the Health and Safety Manager.

Skills/ Qualifications:
To be considered for this Health and Safety Document Controller opportunity my client is looking for a Health and Safety Document Controller with 2 years’ experience and experience in major construction works.

The Document Controller needs to be proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional; EDMS training is provided.
