Deputy Children’s Home Manager
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Children’s Home Manager to join our dedicated team in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional with at least two years’ experience in residential children’s services who is committed to providing exceptional care and support to young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the daily operation of the home, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.

  • Maintain the highest standards of care in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding practices, and company policies.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of residential care workers to deliver person-centred care.

  • Oversee and review individual care plans to meet the unique needs of each child.

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes positive outcomes.

  • Manage administrative duties including staff rotas, budgeting, and accurate record-keeping.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, professionals, and families to support holistic care.

  • Encourage professional development within the team and promote internal career progression opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s home setting.

  • Proven leadership and management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as required.

  • Relevant Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare (desirable – training support available for the right candidate).
