Children’s Residential Home Deputy Manager – 3 Bed EBD
Salary:
£31,072 - £32,900 p.a.
Job Type:
Permanent, Full Time – up to 40 hours per week
Annual Sleep-In Allowance:
£2,980 - £4,960 (based on 6–10 sleeps per month across 10.5 months)
Location: Grantham

Your role will involve:

  • Providing a nurturing environment where the physical and emotional needs of children and young people are met, acting as a positive role model
    • Supporting the Registered Manager in achieving the aims and objectives outlined in the Statement of Purpose
    • Helping to develop systems that ensure young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive
    • Supporting and managing staff to meet the individual needs of children and young people
    • Ensuring each young person is allocated a key worker
    • Ensuring staff understand each child’s placement plan and their responsibilities in delivering it
    • Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to contribute information and achieve the best outcomes for young people
    • Ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and financial records are accurately maintained
    • Working on a rota basis, including weekends, sleep-ins, and on-call duties, in line with the needs of the home
    • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Registered Manager
    • Deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager
    • Working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people
    • Playing a key role in implementing positive change within the home
    • Continuously improving services, systems, and standards alongside the Registered Manager and Senior Leadership Team

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma / NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
    • Working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children, Young People and Families
    • Knowledge of the Children’s Act and relevant legislation
    • Strong supervision and team management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Understanding of the needs of children with BESD/EBD, including managing challenging behaviour
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Ability to motivate and support staff teams
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young people in a residential setting
    • A full clean manual driving licence held for at least 1 year
    • Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Grantham, Lincolnshire prior to starting work (required)
