Description
Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home (2-Bed EBD)
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience, excluding sleep-in and on-call payments)
Hours: Full-time, including shift work and on-call duties

Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s setting, ideally as a Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation
- Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
Desirable Criteria
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards Level 5)
- Experience supporting inspections and regulatory compliance
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operational management of the home
- Lead, motivate, and support the residential staff team
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and daily records are maintained to a high standard
- Promote safeguarding and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted requirements
- Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance support to staff
- Support the delivery of therapeutic and trauma-informed care practices
- Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and external agencies
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, including undertaking on-call responsibilities
