Children's Home Deputy Manager
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 (£16.50 per hour)
Location: Worsley, M28
Home Size: Solo Complex Care Home

What We're Looking For
- Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a residential childcare setting
- Experience supervising and supporting staff
- Good working knowledge of legislation, regulations and guidance relating to residential childcare
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while using initiative
- Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
- Experience reviewing and completing care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans
- Commitment to the welfare, development and positive outcomes of children and young people
- Basic computer skills and confidence maintaining accurate records
- Valid driving licence where required by the service
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the home
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to the residential care team
- Promote a positive, child-centred culture across the home
- Ensure children and young people receive high-quality care, support and guidance
- Work with children and young people to develop and implement appropriate care plans
- Review and maintain care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans
- Ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently followed
- Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and development of staff
- Complete regular staff supervisions and contribute to ongoing professional development
- Identify training and development needs within the staff team
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and support continuous improvement
- Act as a key worker for children and young people where required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements
- Ensure health and safety requirements are maintained throughout the home
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required
- Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews and other relevant professional events
- Support staff working with children who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties or challenging behaviour
- Work collaboratively with professionals and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Registered Manager
