Registered Manager
Location: Carnforth, LA6
House Size: 2 Bed Home (One Child Placed) 
Salary: £46,331 - £52,123 per annum + 10% discretionary bonus

Candidate Requirements

  • Level 4 Children and Young People Practitioner Qualification (England), SCQF Level 7/HNC (Scotland), or Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in children's residential care
  • Minimum 1 year's experience within the last 5 years leading or supervising staff in a residential care setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and quality standards
  • Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to achieve Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (England) or SCQF Level 10 Care Services Leadership & Management (Scotland)
  • Exceptional understanding of safer recruitment practices
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic Parenting (desirable)
  • Qualified or working towards Level 5/SCQF Level 10 Leadership & Management qualification (desirable)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a residential childcare team
  • Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations and standards
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for young people
  • Drive positive outcomes for children and young people aged 8–18
  • Oversee safeguarding practices and regulatory compliance
  • Manage and develop staff performance and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and the in-house psychology team
  • Maintain high standards of care and service delivery
  • Support the home's development and continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective care planning and implementation
