Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
Location: Erdington, B23
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum with additional bonus structure in place
Home: Solo EBD children's residential home

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home
- Experience managing larger children's residential services
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, inspections and Quality Standards
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, complex needs, trauma or emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing staff team
- Experience managing recruitment, supervision, performance and staff development
- Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills
- Experience working alongside external professionals and multi-agency teams
- Track record of achieving and maintaining positive Ofsted outcomes
- Full UK driving licence
- A child-centred, therapeutic and progressive approach to leadership
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the safe and effective day-to-day management of the 6-bed EBD children's home
- Maintain and build upon the home's existing Good Ofsted rating
- Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements
- Lead, inspire and develop a stable, motivated and high-performing staff team
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children and young people
- Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk management and placement stability
- Ensure children's individual needs, wishes and feelings remain central to all aspects of care
- Manage recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management and ongoing staff development
- Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, social workers, families, clinical professionals and other external agencies
- Monitor quality assurance, audits, recording and regulatory compliance
- Identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans
- Maintain effective budgetary control and operational oversight
- Drive occupancy and ensure the home operates effectively and sustainably
- Monitor outcomes for children and young people and drive continuous improvement
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections and ensure recommendations or actions are addressed promptly
- Work closely with the experienced senior management team to maintain high standards across the service
- Lead by example, promoting a positive culture of safeguarding, accountability and child-centred practice
