Children's Residential Service Manager
Salary: £65,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham
Home Size: Portfolio of 5–6 Children's Residential Homes

What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3–4 years' experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care
- Significant experience supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
- Proven multi-site management and operational leadership experience
- Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- A people-focused leadership style with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire teams
- Experience supporting and developing Registered Managers
- Full UK driving licence
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide effective operational leadership and oversight across 5–6 children's residential homes
- Support, mentor and develop Registered Managers and staff teams
- Ensure all services operate in line with Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and organisational policies
- Drive high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance and practice
- Monitor service quality, performance and occupancy levels
- Lead audits, action plans and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support recruitment, retention and workforce development across the services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, external professionals and key stakeholders
- Provide operational support and guidance to Registered Managers
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, including weekend cover where required
- Promote a child-focused, people-centred and outcome-driven culture across all services
- Lead on service development and ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people
