Deputy Care Home Manager – Dementia Care
Location: Exmouth
Salary: £30,000-£34,000 per annum

Purosearch are working with an award winning care provider who are looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Care Home Manager to join their dedicated team in Exmouth within a specialist elderly care home supporting people living with dementia.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding, person-centred dementia care and wants to play a key role in leading a committed team.
About the role
Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and management of the home.
You will help ensure that residents receive consistently high standards of care while supporting the team to create meaningful experiences and maintain each resident's individuality, dignity and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Home Manager with the overall management and running of the home.
Providing visible, compassionate leadership to the care team.
Promoting excellent standards of dementia care and person-centred practice.
Supporting the assessment, planning, delivery and review of residents' care.
Ensuring residents' choices, preferences, routines and life histories are reflected in their care.
Supporting staff with complex care needs, behaviours that may challenge and dementia-related situations.
Leading by example and promoting dignity, respect and independence.
Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and ongoing development of staff.
Monitoring care standards and completing audits and quality checks.
Supporting medication management, safeguarding, health and safety and infection prevention procedures.
Building strong and trusting relationships with residents, relatives and professionals.
Responding appropriately to concerns, incidents and complaints.
Supporting the Home Manager with regulatory compliance and inspections.
Deputising for the Home Manager when required.
About you
We are looking for someone who combines strong leadership skills with genuine compassion.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a senior role within an elderly care or dementia care setting.
A strong understanding of dementia and the impact it can have on individuals and their families.
Experience supporting and developing care teams.
A good understanding of safeguarding, medication, care planning and quality assurance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The confidence to lead, motivate and support a diverse team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A calm, positive and solution-focused approach.
A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people.
A relevant Health & Social Care qualification, such as an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or above, would be desirable.
