Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our team at a newly established 6-bed children's home. The home will accommodate 3 children, each receiving 1:1 support from 3 members of staff. As we build our staff team in anticipation of registration, we are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional to help lead and develop our service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Children's Home Manager in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children.
- Supervise and support the staff team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Step in for the Children's Home Manager when necessary, ensuring continuity of care and management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is desirable.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a children's residential setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as required.
