Are you an experienced manager in children's home settings looking to elevate your career? This is an outstanding opportunity for you to lead the creation of a nurturing new children's home, accommodating up to 2 children.
Join our passionate and innovative team dedicated to providing exceptional residential care for children aged 8-17 with emotional and behavioural challenges. As the Registered Manager, you'll have the unique chance to shape our state-of-the-art children's home, build your ideal team, and implement your vision. They prioritize the needs of the children, but we also recognize that a successful organization relies on a well-supported staff team.
Located in Wigan, a vibrant town in Greater Manchester with a rich industrial heritage and a lively sports culture, our home benefits from excellent transport links, including direct rail connections to Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds, as well as a comprehensive road network and regular bus services.
As the Children's Home Manager, your responsibilities will include:
•Establishing and developing a new, innovative children's residential service
•Managing and fostering a cohesive, high-performing staff team
•Setting and reviewing ambitious targets and objectives for the care team
•Promoting collaborative, partnership-based practices with young people and their families
•Ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being for the children in placement

The ideal candidate will possess:
•A minimum of 2 years' experience in staff supervision and management
•At least 2 years' relevant experience in residential childcare, preferably as a Deputy Manager
•Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
•Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare
•Full clean driving license
•Proven ability to provide consistent, nurturing care and support to young people
•Experience working with children displaying challenging behaviours
•Flexibility to cover shifts as needed
