Occupational Health Team Lead

Location: Warton
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, between 8:00am and 6:00pm
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join an onsite team in Warton.

This is a key leadership position combining clinical Occupational Health delivery with day-to-day management and clinical supervision of the onsite team. You’ll provide professional advice to managers and employees, support the Clinical Operations Manager in developing clinical practice, and ensure services are delivered in line with company policies, legislation and best practice.

You’ll also deliver the full Occupational Health remit, including case management, health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments, medical assessments and drug and alcohol testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent Occupational Health assessments, by telephone and face to face, with clear reports and recommendations
  • Undertake case management, health surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, support and clinical supervision to the onsite clinical team
  • Support staff induction, competency reviews, training, development and appraisals
  • Clinically triage new referrals and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Monitor health surveillance escalations and provide clinical guidance to the team
  • Attend client meetings and deliver Occupational Health training as required
  • Work closely with administrative teams to ensure effective workload allocation and appropriate skill mix
  • Support the development and delivery of client wellbeing initiatives
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and professional standards
  • Ensure clinical rooms and equipment are maintained to the required standard
  • Maintain professional registration and undertake ongoing professional development

You will ideally have:

  • NMC Part 1 registration
  • A postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health, or be working towards one
  • Proven experience across the full Occupational Health remit, including case management and health surveillance
  • Previous management or clinical leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of professional, clinical and legislative requirements
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, adaptable and self-motivated approach
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • A clear understanding of professional accountability and clinical supervision
  • A strong health and safety awareness would be advantageous
