Occupational Health Technician
Location: Plymouth
Salary: Up to £26,000 depending on experience
Hours: 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated Occupational Health Technician to join a multidisciplinary occupational health team at a client site in Plymouth.
Key Responsibilities
- Baseline health checks such as height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis.
- Audiometry and lung function testing.
- Drug and alcohol testing, including following strict chain-of-custody procedures.
- Accurately recording health information and escalating findings to clinical staff.
- Maintaining, cleaning and checking occupational health equipment, including calibration and monitoring requirements.
- Working within agreed protocols and recognising the boundaries of the role.
- Supporting health promotion initiatives and other activities within your trained competencies.
- Completing general administrative and non-clinical duties as required.
You will need to be proactive, organised and able to manage your own workload, while working effectively alongside clinical and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Ideal Background
There is no specific professional qualification required. Suitable experience may include working as a Healthcare Assistant, Fitness Instructor, Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, Offshore Medic, or in a similar health-focused role.
