Location: Derby – Hybrid
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum
Contract: Full time (Monday to Friday)

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate Occupational Health Advisor to join a forward-thinking, clinician-led business committed to employee wellbeing.
Role Overview
As a Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll work from Monday to Friday, conducting clinical assessments and supporting clients with tailored advice to promote health, workplace attendance, and return-to-work strategies.
You’ll work autonomously, with appointments scheduled by a clinical admin team, and provide expert recommendations that help employers support their staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering expert, evidence-based case management services for referrals concerning attendance, fitness for work, and other occupational health (OH) advisory needs.
- Producing professional, comprehensive, and evidence-based written reports.
- Offering expert guidance on legislative requirements and OH best practices.
- Conducting fitness-for-work medicals and health surveillance in accordance with best practice standards.
- Interpreting the outcomes of medicals and surveillance, ensuring accurate and appropriate fitness advice is communicated, and escalating cases when clinically necessary.
- Providing additional OH services within scope of competence, including vaccinations, travel health advice, ergonomic assessments, and health promotion initiatives.
- Offering clinical supervision and support to other team members, such as OH Technicians, where appropriate.
- Maintaining a valid, up-to-date NMC registration and adhering to NMC professional guidelines, including those on clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
Required proficiency in delivering the following services:
- Spirometry
- Audiometry
- General medical examinations
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Case management
- Fitness-for-role assessments
Essential Criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health.
- Registered with the NMC (Part 3 of the register preferred).
- Currently practising in Occupational Health.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
