A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice based in Nottingham. This is an ideal role for an experienced Practice Nurse, or a nurse with transferable skills looking to develop a career within Primary Care, to become part of a progressive, supportive team that is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

The practice is proud to be part of a wider, well-established organisation group that promotes collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement across its network of practices. This partnership provides access to additional resources, ongoing professional development, and a wealth of experience from a multidisciplinary team working across the organisation.

About the Practice:
The practice has built a strong reputation for its welcoming, inclusive environment and its commitment to delivering high standards of care to the local community. It embraces innovative ways of working and is continually looking to enhance its services to meet the evolving needs of its patient population. As part of the wider organisation, the practice benefits from shared governance, regular training opportunities, and peer support, ensuring staff feel valued and supported in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within the general practice setting.

  • Undertaking a wide range of clinical duties including wound care, immunisations, cervical screening, long-term condition reviews (such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension), health promotion, and travel health advice.

  • Supporting the management and delivery of QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework), Enhanced Services, and national/local health initiatives.

  • Working collaboratively with GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of holistic, patient-focused care.

  • Participating in clinical audits, safeguarding processes, and contributing to service development initiatives.

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with best practice and GDPR requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

  • Previous experience in a general practice or primary care setting is desirable, but applications from nurses with relevant transferable skills (e.g., community nursing, secondary care) will be welcomed and supported.

  • Trained in chronic disease management, cervical cytology, childhood immunisations, and wound care (training can be provided if required).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • A team player with a proactive, flexible approach and a genuine passion for patient care.

  • Committed to continuous professional development and contributing to service improvement.

What the Practice Offers:

  • A supportive, forward-thinking, and innovative working environment.

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • NHS Pension Scheme.

  • Opportunities for further training and career development.

  • Regular clinical meetings, protected learning time, and access to shared learning across the wider organisation group.

  • Full-time and part-time hours to suit the successful candidate, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

  • Access to employee wellbeing initiatives and occupational health support.
