Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within children's residential care
  • Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviours
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (desirable)
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care
  • Flexible approach to working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over in line with residential childcare regulations
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the home
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
  • Lead on report writing, care planning and risk assessments
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings when required
  • Support the delivery of high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and external professionals
  • Supervise, mentor and support the residential staff team
  • Promote safeguarding, positive outcomes and person-centred care
  • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and organisational policies
  • Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
  • Gain practical experience across all aspects of residential home management as part of ongoing professional development
  • Work a rota averaging 37.5 hours per week, consisting of three administrative days (9:00am–4:30pm) and one full shift supporting the team
