Children's Home Deputy Manager
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 dependent on experience
Location: Burton-on-Trent, DE13
Home Size: 3-Bed EBD

What We're Looking For
- Recent experience in a Senior, Team Leader or Deputy Manager role within children's residential care
- QCF/NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Services
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD
- Strong track record of delivering high-quality residential care
- Effective leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Good understanding of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements
- Ability to support, mentor and develop residential care staff
- Confidence taking responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence
- Genuine passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the established 3-bed EBD home
- Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence
- Ensure children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care
- Support care reviews, team meetings and planning sessions
- Lead staff inductions and provide supervision, mentoring and performance support
- Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments
- Promote safeguarding and ensure concerns are appropriately managed and escalated
- Support staff to deliver child-centred, nurturing and therapeutic care
- Monitor standards of practice, records and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain and improve quality standards
- Build positive relationships with children, families and external professionals
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the home
- Support the development of the staff team and positive outcomes for children and young people
