Role Overview: As the Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of each child in our care. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, drive high standards of practice, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
The home is based in Wilmslow a picturesque town in Cheshire, known for its charming countryside, excellent schools, and thriving local community. Wilmslow boasts excellent transport links, with direct train services to Manchester, London, and other key cities, as well as easy access to the M56 and M6 motorways, making it well-connected for both commuters and travellers.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage a team of care staff to deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people.
•Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each child, in line with their rights and personal development goals.
•Ensure the home operates in compliance with Ofsted regulations and other relevant bodies.
•Provide leadership in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
•Oversee daily operations, including staff rotas, training, and performance management.
•Maintain positive relationships with families, external agencies, and professionals to support children's care and development.
•Foster an environment that supports education, emotional growth, and a sense of stability for children in care.
Essential Requirements:
•NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
•Significant experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a children's care setting.
•Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and Ofsted regulations.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to inspire and motivate a team while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
