Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum DOE + £5,000 Welcome Bonus + £5,000 OTE Quality & Commercial Bonus

Successful Applicants Will Have

  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people in care
  • At least 2 years' experience in a role related to children's residential care
  • At least 1 year's management or supervisory experience within the last 5 years
  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care / Children's Workforce (essential)
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare qualification (preferred) or willingness to enrol within 6 months of appointment
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted, SCCIF, The Quality Standards, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Effective planning, organisation, budget management, and resource allocation abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and complex needs effectively
  • A full UK driving licence

Key Requirements of the Role

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of a 5-bed children's residential home
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive, person-centred care plans for each young person
  • Ensure care plans address educational, emotional, social, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs
  • Work closely with recruitment teams to attract and retain high-quality staff
  • Deliver effective inductions, supervision, and personal development plans for employees
  • Build and maintain a stable, skilled, and motivated staff team
  • Promote young people's participation and ensure their views influence the care they receive
  • Allocate and oversee key worker responsibilities for all young people
  • Maintain high standards of care in line with The Quality Standards and the home's Statement of Purpose
  • Monitor service quality and drive continuous improvement towards achieving Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
  • Manage complaints, concerns, and safeguarding matters promptly and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, social workers, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes
  • Attend and contribute proactively to reviews, care planning meetings, and professional discussions
  • Create and maintain a positive safeguarding culture throughout the home
  • Ensure children receive care in a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment
  • Take responsibility for the commercial performance of the home and manage budgets effectively
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and organisational requirements
  • Lead by example to create a home where children feel safe, valued, supported, and able to reach their full potential
