Children's Home Manager

Home Size: Currently 5-Bed SEMH Children's Home
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Location: Natland, Cumbria, LA9

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of a well-established 5-bed SEMH children's home.
  • Provide strong leadership and management to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Lead, support, and develop the staff team through effective supervision and performance management.
  • Ensure the home remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and all relevant legislation.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people by creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals.
  • Manage the home's occupancy, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home.
  • Previous experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's residential care standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.
