Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Solihull, B37
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + bonus
Home: 3-bed EBD home
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

What the Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous management experience within a children's residential setting
  • Ideally, at least 2 years' management experience within residential childcare
  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD and challenging behaviours
  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare / Children & Young People
  • Level 5 qualification or willingness to work towards this would be desirable
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care regulations
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing a care team
  • Good understanding of Ofsted expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives and outcomes of children and young people
  • The confidence and drive to lead and develop a children's home

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home
  • Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and child-focused environment
  • Leading, managing and developing the residential childcare team
  • Supporting staff to deliver high-quality and consistent care
  • Ensuring the home operates in line with legislation, regulations and safeguarding requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the home is prepared for Ofsted inspections
  • Ensuring children's individual needs and care plans are effectively met
  • Promoting positive outcomes, independence and personal development for the young people
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, professionals and external agencies
  • Managing staff supervision, training, development and performance
  • Overseeing staffing levels and rota management
  • Monitoring the quality of care and identifying areas for improvement
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
  • Working closely with the Deputy Manager and wider leadership team
  • Creating a positive culture within the home for both staff and young people
