Children’s Services Registered Manager

Location: Salford
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum DOE + Bonuses
Home: 2-bed Children’s Home

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential care for children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare preferred, or willingness to enrol within 6 months of starting.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Strong planning, organisation, budget management, resource allocation and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for making a positive difference to the lives of young people in care.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the 2-bed children’s home.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with Quality Standards, the Statement of Purpose, safeguarding requirements and Ofsted regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, individualised care plans covering care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs.
  • Recruit, lead, develop and retain a strong and consistent staff team.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of care and work towards achieving and maintaining a Good Ofsted rating.
  • Develop effective systems for consulting young people about the care they receive.
  • Allocate and oversee Key Workers to ensure care plans are effectively implemented.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and individualised environment where young people feel valued, understood and supported.
  • Manage complaints, concerns and child protection matters appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, social workers, education providers and other professionals.
  • Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings.
  • Oversee safeguarding, risk management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the home effectively within agreed budgets and commercial expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for young people.
