Children's Home Registered Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000 + 10% KPI-linked bonus
Location: Birmingham, B20
Home Size: 4 Bed EBD (3 Children in Placement)

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care
  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding
  • Proven ability to lead and develop staff teams
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to drive quality improvement and maintain high standards of care
  • Understanding of care planning, risk management and safeguarding
  • Experience working towards improving Ofsted outcomes
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the 4-bed EBD children's home
  • Provide strong leadership and support to the staff team
  • Ensure children receive safe, nurturing and high-quality care tailored to their individual needs
  • Maintain oversight of safeguarding, risk management, care planning and placement outcomes
  • Lead the service through its current Ofsted improvement journey
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Monitor and improve the quality of care, practice and outcomes across the home
  • Recruit, develop, supervise and motivate staff to maintain a high-performing team
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team and external professionals
  • Maintain strong relationships with social workers, local authorities, families and other stakeholders
  • Ensure effective recording, reporting, audits and quality assurance
  • Promote a positive, child-centred and therapeutic culture within the home
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and service development
  • Support the home to achieve improved Ofsted outcomes
