Children's Residential Operations Manager
House Size: Multi-site responsibility across residential homes in the North West region
Location: Preston / North West Region
Salary: £65,000 per annum DOE + £3,000 Welcome Bonus + £3,600 Car Allowance + £10,000 Annual Quality & Commercial Bonus

Successful Applicants Will Have
- Significant senior management experience within the Children's Residential Care sector
- Experience managing and developing teams within a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working with children and young people in residential care settings
- Level 5 Leadership and Management for Care Services qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and relevant children's care legislation
- Understanding of equality, diversity, anti-discrimination policies, and best practice initiatives
- Ability to drive change and motivate teams to achieve positive outcomes
- Proven track record of achieving targets and delivering results under pressure
- Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to providing outstanding care and support for vulnerable children and young people
Key Requirements of the Role
- Oversee the operational management of children's residential services across the North West region
- Ensure all homes remain compliant with statutory, regulatory, and legislative requirements
- Provide leadership, support, supervision, and line management to Home Managers
- Maintain high standards of care, leadership, and service delivery across all homes
- Work closely with senior management teams to support business and service objectives
- Lead on safeguarding matters and ensure the welfare and safety of children and staff
- Support admissions processes and placement targets alongside referral teams
- Ensure effective placement plans, risk assessments, and healthcare plans are in place
- Monitor service performance and manage budgets effectively
- Promote stable, competent, and motivated staff teams across all services
- Conduct training needs analysis and support workforce development initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain positive care outcomes for children and young people
- Ensure homes provide nurturing, homely environments that enable children to thrive
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service excellence
- Support the organisation's commitment to achieving and maintaining outstanding Ofsted outcomes
