Peripatetic Occupational Health Advisor
Location: Bristol / South Wales
Working pattern: Part-time – 3 days per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £40,000–£47,000 per annum, depending on experience, pro-rata
About the role
We are looking for a Qualified Occupational Health Advisor to join a team in a flexible, predominantly home-based and peripatetic role covering Bristol and South Wales.
This role offers a great mix of client-site Occupational Health clinics and home-based clinical work. You will travel within an agreed geographical area to support our clients, while completing management referrals and new starter clearances from home when you are not working on site.
You will work with a variety of commercial clients, providing a professional and high-quality Occupational Health service across a range of workplace settings.
Regular client locations include:
- Clevedon: approximately 1 day per week
- Blackwood: approximately 2–4 days per month
- Bristol: approximately 2–4 days per month
Additional smaller client sites may be required within the agreed geographical area.
When you are not required at a client site, you will generally work from home, undertaking management referrals and new starter clearances.
What you'll be doing
As a Peripatetic Occupational Health Advisor, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting management referrals, with a maximum of 5 cases per day.
- Completing new starter health clearances.
- Delivering health surveillance at client sites.
- Providing wellbeing support as required.
- Delivering flu vaccinations and other vaccinations.
- Undertaking phlebotomy where required.
- Working independently at client sites while maintaining strong communication with the wider Corazon Health team.
- Travelling between agreed client locations within the Bristol and South Wales area.
- Completing management referrals and new starter clearances from home when not working on site.
- Maintaining accurate Occupational Health records and clinical documentation.
- Working in accordance with professional, clinical and confidentiality requirements.
- Building positive working relationships with clients and their HR and Health & Safety teams.
- Supporting the delivery of a high-quality, commercially focused Occupational Health service.
About you
We are looking for a qualified Occupational Health Advisor who is confident working independently and enjoys a varied role combining clinical work, client interaction and home-based assessments.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised Occupational Health qualification.
- Current registration as a Registered General Nurse.
- Experience working within Occupational Health, preferably within a commercial environment.
- The ability to undertake management referrals, new starter screening and health surveillance.
- Confidence delivering Occupational Health services independently at client sites.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible and positive “can-do” attitude.
- The ability to manage your own workload effectively.
- A full, clean driving licence and access to a dependable vehicle, as regular travel between client sites is an important part of the role.
