Occupational Health Technician

Location: Leicester/Rugby
Salary: £24,000–£31,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Part-time – 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Monday–Thursday, with some flexibility

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Technician (OHT) to join a team in a predominantly peripatetic role covering Leicester, Rugby and the surrounding areas.

This role is primarily focused on delivering health surveillance clinics across client sites, with some health promotion and wellbeing activity.

Our most regular client locations are:

  • Nuneaton
  • Loughborough
  • Rugby
  • Northampton

What you'll be doing

You will travel within an agreed area to client sites and provide a range of Occupational Health services, including:

  • Delivering health surveillance clinics.
  • Undertaking routine assessments including Spirometry, Audiometry, Phlebotomy, Skin assessments, Forklift truck medicals and HAVs assessments
  • Delivering health promotion and wellbeing activities.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and health surveillance documentation.
  • Working within agreed clinical protocols and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Supporting clinical audits, governance and service improvement activities.
  • Working independently at client sites, with remote support from the wider Corazon Health team.

Essential requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Health Technician (OHT) or in a similar Occupational Health role.
  • Good understanding and practical experience of health surveillance.
  • Competence in routine assessments such as spirometry, audiometry, skin assessments, forklift truck medicals and HAVs.
  • Phlebotomy / blood-taking experience is essential.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within your level of training and competence.
  • Flexible, resilient and positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.
