About the Role:

A reputable healthcare provider in Salisbury is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paramedic Practitioner to join their multidisciplinary team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced clinical skills in a primary care setting, working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of health conditions, both acute and chronic, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role requires a proactive approach to patient care, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes and improving patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough clinical assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnosing and managing acute illnesses and minor injuries, providing treatment or referral as appropriate.
  • Managing chronic conditions and providing follow-up care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Prescribing medications within the scope of practice and adhering to local and national guidelines.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan patient care.
  • Engaging in health promotion and disease prevention activities, including patient education and advice.
  • Contributing to the practice's quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant post-registration experience, ideally within primary care or urgent care settings.
  • Independent prescribing qualification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in practice.
