A reputable and well-organised GP surgery in Huddersfield is seeking a motivated and clinically confident Practice Nurse to join its supportive and patient-focused primary care team. This opportunity sits within a forward-thinking practice known for its excellent staff culture, high standards of care and commitment to developing its nursing workforce.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering treatment room services, managing long-term conditions and supporting the wider clinical team. This position would suit an experienced Practice Nurse or a nurse with solid treatment-room experience who is ready to step into a Primary Care environment with the right support.
Key Responsibilities
Treatment Room Duties
- Childhood & adult immunisations
- Cervical screening
- Wound care, dressings & suture removal
- Travel vaccinations
- Venepuncture
- B12, contraception & routine injections
- NHS Health Checks
- ECGs, urine testing & general examinations
Chronic Disease Management
- Asthma reviews
- COPD reviews
- Diabetes management
- CHD support and monitoring
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes
- Contribute to QOF, Enhanced Services and practice targets
- Support infection prevention and treatment-room safety
- Promote health education, self-care and lifestyle awareness
- Collaborate closely with GPs, ANPs, HCAs and the wider MDT
About You
- NMC-registered Registered General Nurse
- Experience in Primary Care or strong transferable treatment-room skills
- Confident in immunisations, cervical screening and routine clinical tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centred approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to development, learning and maintaining clinical competence
