Practice Nurse – General Practice (Training & Development Opportunity)
Salary: £28,000 – £40,000 (DOE) | Full-Time / Part-Time | Permanent
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our supportive and forward-thinking training practice within primary care. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking to develop their skills in general practice, with full support for ongoing training and professional development.
We welcome applications from both experienced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses looking to transition into primary care, as comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.
About the Role
As a Practice Nurse, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to our patient population. You will work alongside GPs, advanced practitioners, clinical pharmacists, and healthcare assistants in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This is a training practice, and we are committed to supporting your development in all areas of primary care nursing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver chronic disease management clinics (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension)
- Carry out cervical screening (or receive training if not already qualified)
- Provide immunisations and vaccinations across all age groups
- Undertake wound care and dressings
- Support health promotion and preventative care initiatives
- Assist with long-term condition monitoring and patient education
- Maintain accurate clinical records using EMIS/SystmOne (or equivalent)
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
Training & Development
We offer full support and structured training, including:
- Induction into general practice nursing
- Training in chronic disease management
- Cervical cytology training (if required)
- Immunisation and vaccination updates
- Mentorship from experienced clinicians
- Opportunities to progress into specialist nurse roles within primary care

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
- Passionate about patient-centred care
- Keen to develop skills in primary care nursing
- A strong communicator and team player
- Organised and able to work independently when required
- Willing to learn and engage in ongoing professional development
