Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Provide strong, effective leadership and management to the team, ensuring the home operates in compliance with all statutory regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and accountability.
2. Care Planning and Support:
- Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
- Ensure that the physical, emotional, and social needs of the children are met through a person-centered approach.
- Work closely with social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic care and support.
3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to monitor the quality of care and implement improvements as needed.
- Prepare for and manage inspections and respond to any recommendations or requirements.
4. Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated team, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate supervision and support.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
5. Financial and Resource Management:
- Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and the efficient use of resources.
- Oversee the maintenance of the home, ensuring it provides a safe and welcoming environment.
6. Safeguarding:
- Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to and that all concerns are appropriately reported and managed.
- Promote the safety and well-being of all children in the home.
Requirements:
- A recognized qualification in social work, nursing, or a relevant field (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or equivalent).
- Proven experience in managing a children’s residential care home, preferably with LD and EBD.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex situations effectively.
