Job Description:
The practice is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Prescribing Paramedic to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical care, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients. This role includes the authority to prescribe medications, enhancing the practice's ability to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and diagnosing a wide range of conditions.
  • Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Managing acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Providing expert advice and education to patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Collaborating with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Contributing to the development of practice protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Independent Prescribing qualification.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within primary care.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
